After spending first day at Great Ocean Road, the second day of the two day trip was spent amidst fauna. We stayed at Koala Suite of Fauna Australia. The home-like resort is on Laver hill amidst the rain forest. The suite was well equipped with heating system, oven, microwave and all things you would need to spend a comfortable night out of home yet feeling like at home. By the time we reached there it was almost dark and we were exhausted of the long journey but the moment we saw kangaroos, koalas and parrots we got into the playful mood. All the animals were very friendly; we fed them with carrots (our host provided us a bunch of carrots to feed the animals) and played with them for a while before going to the bed.
As the suite was amidst the rain forest, there was no mobile connection and that gave us plenty of time to do things other than net surfing. We did barbeque and enjoyed the cold weather with steaming cups of coffee. We got up early next morning as all us wanted to have photo sessions with the cute Koalas. They are most calm animals I have seen so far –they sleep 20 hours a day and spend the remaining 4 hours in eating. Well, I think it is how nature has made them to be and they are quite happy that ways. After the photo session we had quick breakfast and embarked on our journey towards the Otway fly treetop. The adventurous place is famous for their two activities – the treetop walk and zip line tour. Of the two I liked the zip line tour as it something new and daring for me to do. After spending around 2-3 hours at the Otway fly treetop, we headed towards Apollo bay. I love beaches and the mere sight uplifts the spirits. Just like the Lorne beach we had fun playing in the water and soaking the natural beauty. Though, for me, the time spent on a beach is never enough but the memories captured in the camera serve the purpose of refreshing the golden times. We reached home around 8:30 pm and slept as if there was no tomorrow.
Here are some glimpses of day two. Hope you like the photos and see Australian woods through our lens.
