Makeup brushes are an inseparable part of makeup – be it casual or professional makeup. These brushes help you attain the perfect look flawlessly. However, one needs to practice a lot on how to use these brushes. If you learn the art of using these makeup brushes then you do not need to go to the makeup salons to get the makeup done. So you can save those pennies and spend them on purchasing trendy makeup products and tools.
Various cosmetic brands from normal to high end manufacture makeup brushes. So you might get an eye shadow brush of one brand in INR 50 and of another brand in INR 350. For beginners, it is better to invest in normal reasonable brands. Once you become an adept in using these brushes you can go for high end brands. That ways you will be proficient enough of feeling the difference in brush functioning of a normal brand and high end brand.
The basic makeup brushes that are commonly used are:
Foundation Brush – Usually, there are two types of foundation brushes: flat foundation brush and stippling foundation brush. Flat foundation brush is used for a heavier look and stippling brush is used for a more natural look. Some people use both the brushes together – flat brush to apply the foundation and stipple brush to blend it well. So the type of brush you need depends on the look you desire.
Powder Brush – Powder brush is a soft brush that is used to apply face powder, blending & settling it well around all the corners of your face. You can also use it to apply loose powder on under eye area thereby taking care of the eye shadow fall outs.
Blush Brush – Blush brush is a little angular brush. It is angled to fit accurately in your face contours and to provide that natural blush look.
Flat Eye Shadow Brush – Flat eye shadow brush is a thin brush, which is used to apply or dab eye shadow on upper eye lids. You can also use this brush to add eye shadow to lower eye lid. Do not use the flat brush to blend the eye shadow.
Eye Shadow Blending Brush – Eye shadow blending brushes are fluffy brushes. These brushes come in different sizes to cover different areas for blending. Also, these brushes help in fine blending of eye shadow, giving an overlapping look.
Brow Brush – Brow brush is an angular tapered brush. It is used to fill in the eyebrows and set them. A very good tool for people with thin eye brows.
Brow & Lashes Brush – This is a two sided brush: one side contains a small comb and the other side contains a horizontal brush. The comb side is used to smooth out the lashes and to give them a finer look. The brush side is used for eye brows.
This was just an introduction to makeup brushes. The more you will use them in your daily makeup the more flawlessness and art you will gain.
Take care, happy practicing :rose:
