Few months back I used a nail buffer which made my nails shine like I was wearing transparent nail paint. That nail shine stayed on for almost 10 days, I know it’s a lot unexpected but that buffer worked like a pro. I so much wanted to have that nail buffer but unfortunately could not get my hands on it. So since then I wanted to have something very similar to that nail buffer. Recently, I purchased one from an exclusive cosmetic store: Basicare 4 Way Nail Buffer Block. Let’s see how close I find this basicare nail buffer to the so-desperately-wanted one ;-) .

My Take on ‘Basicare 4 Way Nail Buffer Block’

Basicare 4 Way Nail Buffer Block is a cushioned block, which makes it very soft and fragile. It’s almost 3 inches long so can easily fit in your pocket or hand bag. This buffer is very light weight, might be just a few grams heavier than a bird feather :-) . It’s a 4 way nail buffer block where each side is painted with a different vibrant color. I love the choice of colors, it makes the nail buffer every attractive. All the four sides function as:

Step 1: File nail edges, file nail in one direction to shape edges.

Step 2: Remove ridges, across to have a fine even finish.

Step 3: Smooth nail, polish across nail in one direction to have a fine smooth finish.

Step 4: Shine nail, buff across nail in one direction until as shiny as desired.

It’s suggested not to over file nails using side 1 & 2 as that can weaken the nails. However, you can use side 4 as often as you wish.

The sale assistant did not let me open the buffer so I could not really get the fragility of the product before making a payment. But I felt a little disappointed when I opened the buffer. It’s made of very soft material that can be accidentally torn or damaged if you use a little extra force while shaping or smoothening your nails. So if you want this product to stay intact for long period you have to be very careful while using it.

Regarding the effectiveness of Basicare 4 Way Nail Buffer Block, it works well for nail filing, removing ridges and smoothening nails. But I am not very much impressed with the ‘shine nail’ part as that shine does not stay on for more than 2 days. I might find this part less impressive because I have already used a buffer that made my nails sparkle for 10 days. Probably, if I would not have used that dream buffer I would have found Basicare 4 Way Nail Buffer Block much better. So, here you have to take a call. If you are good with 2 days shine then go for this nail buffer as all other sides of basicare nail buffer work pretty well.

– Nail shine does not stay on for more than 2 days.
