Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Today, I am sharing my experience with ‘Catrice longlasting eye pencil waterproof’. I had heard a lot about this brand and really wanted to give it a try. Thanks to Fab bag for giving me this opportunity to try my very first product from Catrice. I got this pencil in April Fab bag; though I had worn it numerous times till now but I really wanted to be sure of my observation before sharing it with you all. Let’s see if I like this product.

What The Product Says:

Long-lasting and waterproof. Highly pigmented, colour intense and with different effects, the Long Lasting Eye Pencil Waterproof is sure to make the eyes stand out from the crowd. Its smooth texture is particularly simple and accurate to apply. Automatic pencil with a twist mechanism for the mine, includes a sharpener at the end of the pencil.

My Take on ‘Catrice Longlasting Eye Pencil Waterproof 060 Moss Undercover’

Catrice longlasting eye pencil comes in a twist mechanism form. The cap and bottom-end reflect the shade of the lead. Both resemble closely with the actual shade of the pencil, so I assume this stands valid for all Catrice longlasting eye pencils, and that gives me a cue that I can go ahead with the purchase just by looking at the color of the cap and base, and without actually testing the product. The quality seems little fragile though as the lead shakes a bit when I do some twist-ins and outs, and that also makes me feel that the pencil won’t be able to stand extra pressure which needs to applied quite often. Why? I will explain in the next paragraphs.

The texture is not very creamy. I find it hard to glide on my eyelid, and as the packing lacks sturdiness I am afraid to put more pressure because that can break the lead. The not-so-creamy formula has its toll on the pigmentation as well. This is not a one-stroke pencil; in fact I do not get the desired color even in 2-3 strokes. The hard lead makes it difficult to bring-up the color, I need to drag it along my eyelids in small strokes, and again layer them up to build the intensity. The process is time taking and requires patience. Anyways, it has shimmery finish with non-gritty gold and silver particles. Unless, the color is intensified the shimmer is not much visible.

Moss is duty green shade, which is neither too bright nor very dull. It is appropriate for office, casual and party wears. It is not the kind of shade that will brighten up the complexion or lift the look, but it is definitely a shade that looks different from regular black-lined eye look. And, as it is a dull shade I can easily pull it off with formal attires. For parties, I prefer to apply it as a base for green eyeshadows. By doing so the longevity and pigmentation of eye makeup is increased manifolds and a similar pencil base beneath a powder eyeshadow also prevents creasing.

I have worn it for maximum 7 hours, and it stayed intact for all that long without smudging or fading. In fact it is a waterproof eye pencil so I always have to use makeup remover or cleansing oil to take it off my lids. Plus, as it does not smudge it makes an excellent base for the eye makeup.

– Waterproof and smudge-proof.
– It can be used as eyeshadow base.
– Does not require sharpening.

What I do not like about ‘Catrice Longlasting Eye Pencil Waterproof 060 Moss Undercover’

– Fragile packaging.
– The texture is not easy to work with.
– Less pigmented.
– A lot of tugging and pulling has to be done to spread the color.

Final Word: In addition to being waterproof, Catrice Longlasting Eye Pencil is also smudge-proof. It stays intact for good 7-8 hours without fading or moving from its place. And, that makes it an ideal choice for a green eyeshadow’s base. My only disappointment is with the formula. If it had been slightly creamy, this pencil would have easily made it to my list of favorite products. Otherwise, the shade is wearable – it is only because of the formula that the intensity of the color is slightly difficult to build.
