OMG, did I just spend 7000 bucks on my daily skin care army ?
I was fed up of using same skin care products so I decided to empty the bottles/containers/tubes (whatever they were housed in) to go for new ones. I do not like stocking up unfinished products, plus it does not even do justice to these exorbitantly priced products. So I took the challenge of finishing up ( made good use of them) all my existing skin care products, and to my amazement it took me just 3 weeks to finish them all- OMG it so easy to empty these expensive products but so difficult to purchase new ones- feel so hefty on the pocket. Fortunately, I have the backing of a generous husband who always permits me to fulfill my indulgences (lucky me!). Some of the products of this new ‘skin care army’ were completely out of my budget so I was obviously reluctant to add them to my kitty. But my dear hubby pumped me up to go for them, and in fact sponsored the over-budgeted luxuries. Stop…Stop…Stop! I think by now you are bored of my blabbering so let’s cut it off here, and jump to what all I bought.
My New Skin Care Army
Day cream- Originally, I wanted to go for L’Oreal revital lift range but the sales assistant convinced me to not to go for it as it is appropriate for 40+ age group. L’Oreal youth code was next in my wish list so I went with youth boosting day cream. Pricing: INR 1250
Night cream- I mostly prefer to go with the same range day & night creams for I believe using products from similar formulae increase their efficacy and bring the most out of them. Hence I ended up purchasing L’Oreal youth code youth boosting night cream. Pricing: INR 1175
Face serum– It is not always essential to use a face serum but once you cross 25 you can make it a part of your skin care routine. It expedites and enhances your regular moisturizer’s ability in providing a younger and softer looking skin. Again I went with L’Oreal youth code youth booster serum. Pricing: INR 1450
Face Wash– For last couple of weeks, I have been suffering from some minor acne problem. Salicylic acid is beneficial in treating acne so I chose L’Oreal (L’Oreal again!!!) 360 degree clean anti-breakout facial cleanser. So far it has been helpful in keeping acne at bay, but wait for my detailed review before you form an opinion on this. Pricing: INR 399
Sun protection- L’Oreal youth code day cream does not have sun protection factor so I had to go for an SPF cream. I have used Vichy capital soleil mattifying cream before, and it fared well on me so I re-purchased it–saved me from lots of research work. You can check Vichy SPF cream review here. Priced: INR 1090
Eye cream- This was the toughest decision of all . I wanted a good (all-rounder) eye cream that could work on dark circles and puffiness, and at the same defer the formation of fine lines. Forest essential intensive eye cream with Anise claimed to fulfill all these requirements though at an extremely high price. Gladly, my loving husband agreed to sponsor it, and this precious gem fell into my kitty. Pricing: INR 1575 for JUST 15g.
Most of the stuff that you saw above here is related to anti-ageing. The experts always say that the sooner you start making efforts to defer ageing the luckier you will get. But it does not mean that you should start applying anti-ageing creams from your teens, 25+ is best time to start working towards attaining a forever young skin.
Moreover, I did not necessarily have to spend 7000 bucks on these skin care products. Clearly, I would have saved some money here had L’Oreal youth code cream infused with SPF. Rest all other items were essential so justified the purchasing. ;-)
All the reviews are on way; keep watching this space to know whether I made right decisions or not !
