Hi Friends,
In most households, mornings are probably the most frenzied time of the day. Preparing breakfast, packing tiffins, getting ready for work, blah blah. In these extremely jam-packed mornings we rush things to reach our destinations on time; forget about spending time to prepare healthy breakfast or even think about the health benefits of breakfast. Well, to make that task easier for you here is a recipe that demands lesser dodging in the morning and provides all required nutrients to keep you going for the whole day.
So, let’s start with a new breakfast regimen. I have been eating this breakfast since last week. That was a change from my normal breakfast habit of milk products and I have been liking this change a lot :-). Also, it was recommended by my dietician so I assume that the recipe and its health benefits are trusted :good: .
Highlight: This recipe requires 2 days of soaking.
How to make Protein rich sprouts-
– For a breakfast of 2 persons, take 5 spoons of black channe,5 spoons of green
lentils and 5 spoons of white soyabean.
– Soak them in water for two days. In the interim keep changing the water after
every 8 hours to remove the frothy layer that smears on top.
– On the morning of third day cut a tomato, half onion and few green chilies
(according to taste). Place the saucepan on the stove, put half a tea spoon of
olive oil; you can use any cooking oil.
– When the oil gets hot, put cumin seeds, tomato, onion and green chillies.
Put salt as per your taste buds. Stir all these ingredients for a while and
then add the sprouted lentils.
– Heat the mixture until the water gets evaporated and your breakfast
is ready. Before serving, one can also put small cheese cubes, soaked almonds
& few raisins. If you like tomato ketch-up then add a spoon of that too.
Health benefits of Protein rich sprouts-
Protein rich- Vegetarian are left with little or no choice to consume protein rich foods. Before this regimen, I used to munch raw paneer all the time. When paneer was about to reach its saturated level (got bored of eating the same thing everyday) I jumped on to sprouts. Sprouts is a highly recommended diet for vegetarians as they contain a wholesome pack of proteins minus the fat, cholesterol and calories.
Nutrient rich- Sprouts provide Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin B1,Vitamin B6 and Vitamin K. They also provide minerals such as Iron,Phosphorous,Magnesium, Potassium, Manganese, and Calcium. Sprouts also have dietary fiber and Omega-3 fatty acids.
Easily digestible- The high quantity of enzymes present in sprouts makes them easily digestible. Good for people with bloating or digestion problems.
Helps in weight loss- As sprouts are high in fiber and low in calorie so people who are looking for weight loss must include them in their diet. It makes stomach feel fuller for a longtime.
I am sure you will love this breakfast recipe as it does not add any extra calories to your body. Moreover, it is high in protein so it will help in converting the body fat to muscular fat. Believe me; you won’t feel any appetite for 2-3 hours after having this energy packed breakfast. Sprouts are a great snack after workout as they help in converting fat into muscles- a bonus for exercise lovers :yahoo:
