How to make the lipstick stay longer!
Greetings Everyone,
Hope you have had a wonderful weekend. The wedding and the festive seasons are approaching so what are your plans? Talking about weddings and festivals, I feel very excited as these seasons call for traditional dresses, makeup and high heels. Nothing can beat the joy of makeup :nailfile: But there is one thing bothersome: touch up, especially the lipstick touch-up that requires a bit more attention because of all the food and drinks we consume in these occasions. Sometime the pain of carrying the lipstick, the mirror and the frequent visits to the rest room to reapply it spoils the mood.
Even in our usual daily regimen, while most of us keep busy in our office schedules, professional meetings, daily house hold chores we forget that even our face needs touch ups.
To minimize the need of this touch up one should indulge either in longer staying power makeup products or tips that help an average product to stay longer. Today I will share with you some tips that will help the lipstick to stay longer, at least for another 4-5 hours. Let’s start with a step by step procedure.
Step 1- Moisturize the lips. Every morning and evening carefully rub a damp tooth brush on your lips to get rid of dead skin cells. Afterwards apply a good quality lip balm. This tip does not specifically relate to lipstick but it helps in healing of chapped lips and provides thorough moisturizer.
Step 2- Before applying the lipstick take a matching lip liner to shape the lips. Once the lip boundary is done fill in the lips with same lip liner. This will give a prominent appearance to the lipstick shade and help in making it long lasting.
Step 3– Take a lipstick brush and start filling the lower lip from mid-section to the end corner. Repeat the same procedure with the upper lip. Lipstick, when applied with a brush provides a fine definition to lips thereby giving a flawless application.
Step 4- Dab some white talc powder on a tissue paper and place it in between your lips. Using the lips press the tissue paper hard so that it soaks the extra lipstick. This will give a matte effect to the lipstick and does not let it bleed at the edges. This also makes the lipstick stay longer. If you like the matte look then you can stop here otherwise follow the next steps.
Step 5- Repeat step 3 to apply another coat of the lipstick. This will give a sheen look; if you like you can also apply a lip gloss on top of this coat.
Bonus tip to make the lipstick stain free
This is a very old tip, a reminder to those who already know and a bonus tip for those who did not know Place a clean tissue on your lipstick filled lips, after step 5. Take loose or pressed powder on your powder brush and swipe it all over the tissue. Remove the tissue. This will blot your lipstick in without making your lips powdery or taking away the color of the lipstick.
I am sure if you take care of these 5 steps the lipstick is definitely going to stay loooonger and you do not need to worry about the restroom visits :yahoo:
Do let me know your comments if you apply the lipstick this way.
