Today’s makeup up is for the upcoming Indian festival season. I will be sharing a series of such posts in the coming week. In my opinion, bright colors are the depiction of happiness and celebration. Especially in Punajbi culture, girls like to be decked up amidst bold makeup and lots of bling. Being a Punjabi, that is my sense of celebration too. Even though I do not prefer adorning that look in day-to-day life, still the Punjabi girl within me cannot stay away from chirpy colors in festival season. To welcome this year’s fiesta, I created this day time look. The lips are bright red but the eye-makeup is slightly toned down to balance the entire look. Hope you will like it.
For the base makeup, I used L’Oreal infalliable makeup lasting foundation in sable sand shade and makeup revolution concealer . After finishing the base, I always do my eyes first, so this time I painted them using metallic copper eye shadow. This did not take much time as I just had to involve couple of brown shades to make the base, and smooth transition from crease and above. Then I finally used the metallic copper eye shadow, from Revlon blissful palette (this is perfect palette for festival season as it has the right mix of metallic, matte and shimmery eye shadows), to add the bling factor. Lined up my eyes in usual winged line look, and curled them up with Lakme eyeconic mascara. To add more drama to the look, I painted my lips red using the Bellapierre ruby lipstick . My round face lacks sculpting, so contouring is must for me. I do not know why, but the camera did not capture the shadows that I added with Sleek contouring kit below my cheek bones but believe me, those were quite visible otherwise. For apple of cheeks, I used L’Oreal true match blush in shade honey– that adds a warm tone to cheeks without making the overall look go flashy. To paint the canvas, I used the Real techniques core collection and eye makeup sets, along with some studio brushes.
