Jolen Sun Screen Lotion SPF 15 Review, Swatch
Hello Everyone,
I have been thinking from a long time to start writing for a blog and now that dream has finally come true. As it’s my debut review , I am super excited + nervous. So let’s start the review, hope you all will like it (*fingers crossed*).
What the product says:
– Jolen Sun Screen Lotion with UVA and UVB sun filter protects your skin from harmful UV rays which cause skin darkening and pre-mature ageing.
– It is enriched with Barberries Aristata extract (Turmeric), which acts as antiseptic and gives fairness effect to the skin.
Directions for Use:
Gently apply the lotion in circular motion on the face, neck, arms to keep the skin protected from UV rays. Do not apply the lotion near eyes. It is strongly recommended that special care to be taken while applying to children.
My take on Jolen Sun Screen Lotion SPF 15:
I am sure all the ladies very well know the importance of SPF’s. It protects our skin from the harmful UV rays and also helps in preventing sun burn, skin tanning and early aging. Previously I was using Vaseline Healthy White body lotion with SPF 24 and was satisfied from it. But I easily get bore after using a particular product for a longer period of time. I brought Jolen Sun Screen Lotion only to take a break from my last body lotion.
As soon as I saw the bottle, I knew that I am going to purchase it. It has SPF 15, so stands as a good option for summers. It comes in a small bottle with a very cute golden cap. The product claims to protect the skin from UV rays. The fairness claim is totally false but it’s not an issue with me because I bought this lotion only because of its packaging and SPF content.
The lotion has thin consistency which is very runny. It gets easily absorbed into the skin, leaving it fresh and radiant. It neither makes my skin dry (not at all) nor gives a greasy or heavy feeling. It has a very refreshing and mild fragrance which lingers on the skin for a while. After my experience with other body lotions, which either used to make my hands oily (as if I have applied coconut oil) or made me greasy, chip chip, I can say that Jolen stands out in those concerns.
The only problem that I have faced with this lotion is that it needs to be reapplied after every 2 hours, which is a big trouble for a lazy person like me. Also, I am little doubtful that it will work in winters. But that’s not a big issue with me, as I tried this body lotion only for a change and for it’s SPF claim. I have no plans to buy or use it in winters
What I like about Jolen Sun Screen Lotion SPF 15:
– It has an attractive packaging.
– It is easily available.
– Price is not an issue.
– It has SPF 15, so a good option in summers.
– It doesn’t make skin greasy.
– It has soothing and mild fragrance.
What I do not like about Jolen Sun Screen Lotion SPF 15:
– It has very runny consistency.
– Fairness claim is totally false.
– It has a long and scary list of chemicals.
– Makes skin dry after couple of hours.
– It might not work on extra dry skin.
Ingredients of Jolen Sun Screen Lotion SPF 15:
Price of Jolen Sun Screen Lotion SPF 15: Rs.65/- for 60 ml.
Shelf Life of Jolen Sun Screen Lotion SPF 15: 36 months from the date of manufacture.
BABE Rating: 3.5/5 (0.5 marks deducted for false fairness claim, 0.5 marks deducted for scary ingredient list and 0.5 marks deducted for constant need of re-application)
My Final Words on Jolen Sun Screen Lotion SPF 15: Overall it’s a decent product. You can give it a try in summers, but only if you are fed up with your current body lotion. It will not disappoint, especially for the SPF part. As for me, I’ll not repurchase it but will go back to Vaseline Healthy White body lotion.
