Lakme Salon Show Stopping Hair Collection and Hair Makeover Experience
Hi Everyone,
For long time, I have been thinking of an appropriate hair cut that suits my face cut. As I always do things on the go, which leaves less or no time to style hair so I do not only wanted a good hair cut but also a less manageable one. Thanks to Lakme for giving me this opportunity of selecting a hair look from their recently launched #HairIsFashion The Show Stopping Hair Collection (SSHC), which has the most amazing hairstyles specially chosen by the hair experts. I am sure that if you go through the look-book you will be intrigued by each one of these cuts, as afterall – hair is the new fashion. You can check this link for Lakme Show Stopping Hair Collection (SSHC).
I chose Lakme Salon, Preet Vihar, New Delhi to get the hair makeover session. After booking an appointment over telephone, I reached the Salon at the stipulated time. It’s always better to book an appointment in advance to avoid the last minute rush. Henceforth, you will read my experience that is based on my interaction with the staff, my hair stylist Raj, and salon Ambience.
What made me choose this haircut
Usually, whenever I go for a haircut, I do lots of research only to find the best cut that looks different and cute on me. At Lakme Salon, I was given so many choices that I could not exactly put my finger on just one haircut so I left everything to my stylist – Raj. Raj seemed quite knowledgeable and skillful in hair-styling art. Before choosing the haircut, he took his time in devising the best fit for my round face structure, hair length and texture. While he was doing that he surely gave some explanations about the cut, and took my nod before proceeding further. Here the parameters that helped us in choosing what we chose ;-) :
- My hair has a natural straight texture so I wanted a cut that would give them a wavy and sophisticated look.
- Who does not like Oval face structure! Given the round face shape I have, I always look out for haircuts that give me an oval illusion. This was one of the main reasons that drew me towards this cut.
- I rarely get any time to style my hair, so I was looking for a cut that did not require high maintenance. Just a brush or two, and I am out of the house flaunting my easy-to-manage yet stylish hair.
Here goes the chopping
After 10-15 minutes discussion, we unanimously agreed for a particular haircut. He washed my hair using T&G Bed head shampoo and conditioner. In the due course of washing he kept giving tips on ‘how to wash hair’ per se: we should not use warm water on hair, we should not apply conditioner on the roots, etc. After a thorough hair wash (read: a lecture on best hair washing techniques ;-) ), I was made to sit on one of those big revolving chairs so that he could get started with the cut, and then started the chopping.
Raj ensured that the haircut turned out as discussed, so he made use of the various tools and texturing methods. To give my face an oval look, he made hair little sleek from the sides and gave the crown area a voluminous look. For more spikes and sharp look, my hairs were textured on both sides. The entire process of hair chopping and texturing took around 15 minutes. After which he applied a heat protectant hair serum on the hair, and blow-dried them just to see if they were giving the desired look. To give the side hair a sharper look, Raj textured them even more before finishing off the final look with a shine-booster.
I was more than satisfied with the final look, and my experience at Lakme Salon. The staff there is cooperative and equipped with high expertise that make them excel at what they are doing, and more importantly in making their customers happy.
The very same day I had to attend a wedding, and I was head over heels to meet those appreciative gazes. When your friends appreciate your new look, it sort of intensify the affirmation that you have done the right thing. Plus, I am happy that this is a versatile haircut that goes well with both western and traditional outfits… yippee !!
