Nivea Aqua Effect Purifying Face Wash Review
Hi Everyone,
I got Nivea Aqua Effect Purifying Face Wash as a complimentary product with Nivea cell repairing body lotion. Enticed by face wash’s packaging, I immediately decided that this would be my next cleanser but once I started using it the zeal could not last long, not even 2 weeks  . Read it out further to know what did not exactly work well.
What the product says:
NIVEA Aqua Effect Purifying Facewash for Mixed to Oily Skin is enriched with Ocean Algae and Hydra IQ. Its effective formula:
– Deeply cleanses pores with its minute scrub particles to reduce and prevent skin imperfections
– Reduces excess sebum to prevent oily skin while respecting the skin’s own moisture balance
– Vitalizes the skin with Ocean Algae
My Take on’ Nivea Aqua Effect Purifying Face Wash’
Nivea aqua effect purifying face wash comes in a flip open squeezable tube. The tube is aqua in color just as the main ingredient of the face wash. :-) The tempting color might allure you to pick it up from display shelves but I would suggest you to go through my review before you do that. The housed product is translucent with tiny blue beads in it. I guess, they are supposed to do skin exfoliation along with regular cleansing. The texture is gritty and gel based. It has a mild fragrance, which is easy to bear by even sensitive nose people.
I have been using this product day and night for over 1 week now. I am following all the usage instructions inscribed on the tube but still not satisfied with its efficacy. I rub a coin size product between by wet palms to create lather, which never happens, and then massage it in upward circular motions on face and neck. And finally rinse off with lukewarm water.
As it does not create lather/foam so I do not get the cleansing satisfaction. Even when I am massaging my face for 20-30 seconds I have no clue whether this face wash is doing its job or not. I am used to lather face washes, at least they kind of convey that they are doing their work but with non-lather face washes it becomes very difficult to feel the ‘I-am-clean’ factor.
The miniscule particles feel gentle on the skin as if they are exfoliating and deep cleansing but indeed they do not contribute to thorough cleansing as they are unable to remove makeup completely. Moreover, immediately after wash my face feels stretchy and dry. I understand that this face wash is formulated to prevent oily shine but I believe that it is doing so in an extreme manner. It strips off every last drop of oil, making skin stretchy.
In summers this might prove an average product for oily skin people but in winters it is definitely not a good choice. Its USP ocean algae is quite beneficial for the skin, and I really wanted to see its effects on me but considering the overall effect of this product I do not think I would be able to use it for long.
What I like about ‘Nivea Aqua Effect Purifying Face Wash’
– It claims to contain ocean algae which are considered good for skin care.
– The miniscule particles feel gentle on the skin.
– It has a gel based texture that ensures that no product gets wasted.
What I do not like about ‘Nivea Aqua Effect Purifying Face Wash’
– It does not create lather.
– It makes my skin feel stretched.
– It does not bring any glow or freshness to the skin.
Price of ‘Nivea Aqua Effect Purifying Face Wash’: INR 99 for 75 ml
Shelf life of ‘Nivea Aqua Effect Purifying Face Wash’: 30 month from manufactured
BABE Rating: 2/5
Final Word: Nivea Aqua Effect Purifying Face Wash strips the skin off its minimal moisture, leaving it dry and stretchy. It might serve well in summer season when the weather is humid and hot but for winter season it is definitely not a good product.

I have incredibly oily skin and usually no face cleanser is ably to get rid of the shine for more than a few minutes. So maybe this product might end up working for me. I’ll give it a try.

I have used it and it worked well for me. Too bad that it didn’t fare well for you, though nicely reviewed hun! :)
Thanks Niesha, my biggest problem is that I do not like face washes that do not lather.
