Outfit Of The Day: Double Breasted Navy Blue Long Wool Coat
Hi Everyone,
I and Sunny are sticking to an unspoken 2015 resolution – shhh… if you speak about it you will break it. The tacit resolution is to visit all the ins and outs of NCR, at least once. How ridiculous it may sound, but let me honestly tell you that I have been in Delhi for more than 12 years now but never ever visited Red Fort – I know how derogatory it is but my plans somehow get cancelled at the very last minute. I lieu of Sunny’s resilient attitude I think I might be able to leave my footsteps in all the beautiful, historical and happening places of NCR ;-).
Just one month passed, and we have already covered 2 historical monuments: Humayun Tomb and old fort (Purana Qila as it is called).I have already shared my Humayun Tomb’s outfit pictures with you, so Today you will be visiting Old fort through Sunny’s lens.
Old Fort Delhi
Purana Qila is spread in almost 2 km circuit amidst greenery on one side and river Yamuna on the other. The massive gateway and walls of this historical Qila were built by Humayun. You should have plenty of time in hand in case you are planning a visit – at least 2 hours. Inside the qila there a couple of monuments, an ancient museum and a multimedia light & sound show. The entry charge to the premises is INR 5 for Indians and INR 100 for foreigners (so much disparity). For museum, you will be charged another 5 bucks individually. The one hour multimedia show (ticket is priced at INR 80 for every individual) is being run on all days except Friday.
We did not get to watch this show as we were unaware of the timings, the entries close by 5:30 pm and the show starts at 7:00 pm. We were so short of time that we had to leave a part of Qila unvisited, so we are definitely going to come back here to cover the remaining monuments and watch the multimedia show. Stoned background, lush green lawns make this an ideal place for photography.
For this visit I wore a double breasted navy blue coat along with slim fitting jeans. I knew some rock climbing would be involved so I kept the heels to bare minimum. By the end it had become so dark and cold that I had to put on a warm muffler. It was an evening well spent.
