Sugar Cosmetics is one of my favourite brands when it comes to color cosmetics. I love their products for the quality and shade variety. For that quality, the price tags are considerable too. And no, this is not a sponsored post. I am saying this for my genuine liking for the brand. I have already reviewed many Sugar Cosmetics products before and a very few turned out to be disappointing ones. Today, I am reviewing another yet from their lipstick range – Sugar Cosmetics It’s A Pout Time Vivid Lipstick Brownton Abbey. Let’s see how I find this shade.
What the product says
Creamy and moisturising, SUGAR It’s A-Pout Time! Vivid Lipstick combines the look of a classic matte lip with the benefit of incredible comfort. Enriched with micronized pigments and silica micro-beads, this matte lipstick glides on easily and settles to a gorgeous matte finish. FDA approved, this lipstick is free of mineral oil and parabens.
My take on ‘Sugar Cosmetics It’s A Pout Time Vivid Lipstick Brownton Abbey’
It comes in a classic Sugar packaging i.e. the lipstick is packed in a black colored hard paper case. It has the shade name mentioned on it. I find the outer case so decent that I always prefer to keep my Sugar lipsticks in the case only. The actual lipstick is even classier as it has matte black encasing with nothing mentioned on it but just the brand and shade name. The tip of the bullet is flat and oval shaped. If you are accustomed to using the typical pointed bullets you might need to do some practice to precisely define your lips with this one.
As the product description says, this lipstick has a creamy formula. It does not dry out the lips rather feel very moisturizing. Plus, the formula is so light and non-sticky that even in this hot humid season I do not see my lips getting uncomfortable with it. In fact, I do not need to exfoliate the lips before applying this shade; else the shades like this require lip exfoliation for a nice finish.
The shade Brownton Abbey is a peach brown matte lip colour shade. It has got decent pigmentation. In one swipe you would get nice coverage and two swipes provide an almost opaque look. I find the shade appropriate for office wear as it enhances the professional look. For the suitability, I think this shade will go pretty well on all skin tones except the dark ones. I love to team it up with dark eyes… especially black smoke(y) eyes. It adds sophistication as well as glamour to the look.
Usually, I do not prefer brown shades but I find this one in particular wearable since it has peachy undertone. It gives warmth to the overall look without any loud appearance. Since the formula is creamy, it glides on to the lips very well. The range consists of 6 shades that are appropriate for Indian skin tones. They are a mix of red, pink and browns.
Removing the lipstick is pretty easy too. It can be easily removed with makeup remover and does not even leave any stains. As far as the longevity is concerned, it stays out for good 6-7 hours without fading. Even with intermittent meals, it has got pretty good staying power of 4-5 hours.
