Sugar cosmetics has of lately launched another range of lipsticks – “It’s A-Pout Time”. There are 6 shades in this range, and all of them are bold and feminine. I have already reviewed the breaking bare shade from this range and today I will be reviewing “Mad Magenta”. It is because of inclination towards pink that I always choose variant of this feminine color but thankfully these two lipstick shades are miles apart. Let’s go through the review.
What the product says:
If you’ve been crushing over classic matte lips – the hottest lip trend on the runway – you’ll totally adore SUGAR It’s A-Pout Time! Vivid Lipstick. Creamy and moisturizing, this lipstick combines the look of a classic matte lip with the benefit of incredible comfort. Enriched with micronized pigments and silica micro-beads, this matte lipstick glides on easily and settles to a gorgeous matte finish.
My take on ‘Sugar Cosmetics It’s A Pout Time Vivid Lipstick Mad Magenta’
The 6 shades available in this range are: The big bang berry, breaking bare, mad magenta, coralline in the city, that 70’s red and preachy little liars. The last two shades are recently added to the range – one is the classic red and other is the everyday n*ude kind of shade. The packaging of this lipstick is quite classy. The matte black bullet holder is placed in a black cardboard box. Both the box and the bullet holder bear the shade and range names. Unlike other lipstick, these lipsticks have a flat slanted tip, which requires practice for an immaculate lip outlining. Else, you can for a lip liner for outlining and then fill up the lips either using the flat bullet or using a brush. I like the roll-in mechanism as when the entire bullet is rolled in it gives the sound of a click ensuring the bullet is ready to be capped.
Mad magenta is a lively fuchsia shade that lifts up my mood. It is a perfect party wear shade but I do not mind wearing it during my regular day-to-day routine as well. Whenever I am not in mood of going to office or feel lazy I wear this lipstick and it instantly boosts me up with energy and go-get-ready feeling. It is a nice way to energize without munching on those extra calories . This shade will suit all skin tones.
The lipstick is neither very creamy nor dry it has comfortable matte finish that does not dry out the lips and yet give a matte look. Unlike the Sugar Cosmetics Matte As Hell crayons, these vivid lipsticks have sturdy matte formula that is not much soft and creamy. I like this formula as it keeps the lipstick in place for long without any sticky feel and does not even accentuate the dry patchy areas. It has nice color intensity that gives almost 80% opaque look in single swipe and two swipes are enough for 100% opaque look. It glides smoothly on the lips and does not require any tugging. And, as the formula is not super creamy so it does not deposit more than required product.
The staying power is around 6-7 hours. It fades slightly after intermittent full meals but does not lead to an uneven look. I have seen some lipsticks that fade from the center giving a patchy look but nothing of this sort has happened with this lipstick. As it is a bright color so it leaves pink stain at the center of lips. I think that is becuase the skin there is more soft but after using makeup remover the staining part can be taken care of.
