It bears the brand name and the shade of the kohl in white colored text on the plain black pencil. The cap of the kohl is long enough to keep the tip of the pencil safe from external damage. It does not close with a click sound but still shuts properly without loosening up. It comes with a free sharpener that is carefully crafted to help make the most of the purchase. Overall, the packaging is quite simple and convenient to use.

It has soft, creamy texture that is wax-based and makes the pencil glide easily. The pigmentation is much better than many kohls available in the market. In just single swipe, it gives an intense black color that is quite prominent. I am happy that I do not need to struggle to make the color pop. I apply it on both lower and upper lash lines, and it helps in defining the eyes well.

Final Word: Overall, I like the intense black pigmentation of Sugar Cosmetics stroke of genius heavy duty kohl. Its soft and creamy texture serves as the cherry on the cake, and give an intense black look in a just single swipe. Being devoid of mineral oil and paraffin, it is safe for the eyes and does not cause any irritation. However, the 8-hour staying power claim is untrue as on my eyes it did not stay longer than 2-3 hours. If the staying power was better I would be more than happy to use it on daily basis just like any other regular kohl but now I think it will be more useful for smokey eye look else I need to dab compact powder around the waterline to elongate its staying power.
