Have you ever wondered why you cannot get rid of those white lines from your body despite using tons of oils & body lotions? Simple- it is because your skin needs more than that. The appearance of white lines, flaky skin is a call out to replenish it with good moisturizers. I suffered from this whiteness for a long time, and then I found this miraculous product called “Body Butter”. Body butter has a thicker texture. This quality makes body butter great for spreading over the skin and providing long-lasting moisture. For almost 10 years now, body butters have a permanent place in my skincare cabinet. In today’s post, I am sharing with you the top 5 body butters available in India.
Mother Sparsh Plant powered Shea and Cocoa Body Butter– If you have been following me for a long you would know I prefer chemical-free, plant-based skincare products. Clearly, for that very reason, Mother Sparsh body butter tops my list. It is 100% chemical-free and contains the goodness of wonderful ingredients like Shea butter, Cocoa butter, Glycerin, Coconut oil, Bergamot oil, etc. It is a perfect blend of essential oils and skin-friendly ingredients having anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. This helps in soothing the skin and reducing inflammation. It has a smooth, thick texture that makes it spread very swiftly on the skin.
The best thing is it quickly penetrates into the skin without leaving any sticky feel behind. I apply it immediately after the morning shower, and it keeps the skin moisturized all day long, reduces the signs of dry patchy skin, lightens blemishes and dark spots, pigmentation, and slows down premature skin aging. If used regularly, it even helps in improving skin elasticity and firmness. It even works on cracked heels; all you need is 2 days to see the magic. I love the mild fragrance that lingers on for a long time, making me feel fresh and fragrant.
In addition, it is free from phthalates, parabens, dyes, SLS/SLES, harsh chemicals, and synthetic fragrances, and this makes it an ideal moisturizing solution for all skin types. If evening shower is a great way to unwind and relax, slathering the body with this heavenly fragrant body butter is a cherry on the cake.
Priced Rs 499 for 100g- value for money.
The Body Shop Almond Milk and Honey Body Butter – The next on the list is this Almond body butter from The Body Shop. Honestly speaking, the simple yet fancy product name influenced me to buy this product. I started using this product during my pregnancy because I read somewhere that this combination prevents the appearance of stretch marks. I used it for a long period but did not see it either preventing the stretch marks or reducing them (I got stretch marks after the delivery).
Still, if you are wondering why it is second on my list- it’s due to the long-lasting moisturizing ability. It has a thick consistency and spreads very easily. This body butter also penetrates into the skin leaving nothing but a soft and healthy feel behind. It claims to provide 48-hour moisture but frankly speaking, I did not get the opportunity to validate that claim. The fragrance is slightly towards the stronger side but as the smell is delicious and lasts only for a few minutes I would happily apply it after a shower.
Priced Rs 1295 for 200ml.
Nykaa Wanderlust Body Butter – Strawberry Daiquiri- As the name says, this body butter is formulated with delicious Strawberries and that yummy fragrance is the USP as well. This mini body butter also contains the goodness of Cocoa and Shea butters to keep the skin well hydrated. It makes the skin soft and delightful after every use but demands repetitive applications. I find it a good product to carry in a handbag to use when with friends or at public places. Priced Rs 249 for 50g.
Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E – Again, I bought this product during my pregnancy with the hope that it will prevent the appearance of stretch marks. I started using it in the first trimester but the magic did not work. However, I love its fragrance and the way it makes the skin smooth. Enriched with Vitamin E & cocoa butter, it heals, softens, and protects rough, dry skin. Priced Rs 449 for 100g.
The Nature’s Co Bitter Almond Body Butter – Bitter Almond extract, Kokum butter, Grapeseed oil, and Olive oil are the main ingredients of this body butter. It has a whipped cream-like texture that makes it glide smoothly on the skin. It takes some time to go deep into the skin and leaves a little bit of a sticky feel behind it. However, it does make the skin smooth and richly hydrated. I love the fruity fragrance but sadly, it goes away after a few hours. With the frequent application, you would see it doing wonders on chapped, rough skin. Priced Rs 1395 for 250ml.
These are the top 5 body butters available in India. As I am a hoarder of plant-based skincare products, Mother Sparsh will always be on top of my list, along with body butters made from moisturizing agents like Cocoa, Shea, Honey, Almond & Glycerin.
Have you tried any of these body butters? I would love to know your feedback if you have tried any of them or different favorite body butter.
