VLCC Almond Nourishing Body Lotion Review
Hi Everyone,
As you might know that I was not much satisfied with my current Nivea whitening cell repair body lotion. It is more of a summer lotion that moisturizes the skin but not to the extent that is essential in winters. So I have kept it aside in my closet to use it later in summer season. For the cold Delhi weather (which is not officially started yet), VLCC almond nourishing body lotion replaces Nivea whitening cell repair. This is a new addition to my skin care stock, and here is how I am finding it so far.
My Take on ‘VLCC Almond Nourishing Body Lotion’
VLCC almond body lotion comes in a white color top-press bottle. The nozzle is quite convenient when it comes to transfer the contents to smaller bottles. However, you might have tough time in unlocking it before the very first use. I kept twisting it in one or other directions to pump out the contents but till date do not know how it got unlocked finally. ;-) The bottle is huge and made of hard plastic so is not much travel friendly. Before travelling I always transfer the contents to small bottles to save on space and weight.
The lotion itself is white in color with semi-thick consistency. Due to the consistency this lotion can be easily slathered on entire body. However, it does take some time to absorb into the skin. I have to rub it quite a few times to make it to sink into the skin. It also leaves a white cast behind that usually vanishes after a couple of minutes. Plus, this lotion contains almonds and wheat germ extracts as the main ingredients, which are allegedly believed to make the skin soft and supple by manifolds. The complete ingredient list is nowhere mentioned on the bottle so I have my doubt that this lotion is devoid of parabens.
So far, I am finding VLCC almond nourishing body lotion much better than Nivea’s whitening cell repair body lotion. The former one provides intense moisture that stays longer than 5 hours. I do not need to re-apply it the whole day except before going to bed. Earlier I used to moisturize my skin a couple of times a day owing to itching caused by dryness. Moreover, it does not leave my skin heavy and sticky. It feels light and soothing on the skin.
The SPF 15 trait is an add-on advantage especially in winter season. But for summers, I do believe that SPF 15 will be less effective under the scorching skin so you may need to slather on higher SPF cream for the required sun protection.
I have normal skin so I feel that this body lotion is doing justice in combating winter dryness but on dry skin people this might provide less coverage than what is required.
What I like about ‘VLCC Almond Nourishing Body Lotion’
– It contains SPF 15 that protects the skin from both UVA and UVB rays.
– Almond oil and wheat germ extracts nourish the skin and make it soft.
– The push button packaging makes it easier to transfer the contents to small bottle for hassle free traveling.
– After regular use it does help in combating dryness.
– The semi-thick consistency makes it easy to spread on the skin.
What I do not like about ‘VLCC Almond Nourishing Body Lotion’
– It takes some time to completely penetrate inside the skin.
– Though directions are given on the press-button cap to pump out the lotion but it does not work according to those directions. The very first time I had to use this lotion I kept on playing with the press-button cap (following the instructions) but it was not ready to come out. I had to struggle a lot to make it work.
– The medicated smell might be awful for some.

Final Word: For normal skin, VLCC Almond Nourishing Body Lotion is an average choice for winter season. Formulated with almonds and wheat germ extracts, it does nourish skin and provide long lasting moisture. I like the light, non-sticky feel that it brings to my skin. Overall, being gifted with normal skin I might like to give VLCC Almond Nourishing Body Lotion another try. Dry skin people might have some concerns with the ‘dryness-combating’ efficacy of this lotion.
