Wella Oil Reflections Smoothening Treatment Review
Hi Everyone,
In winters hair become dry, frizzy and lifeless and we need to take some extra efforts to maintain our hair health and texture. Now-a-days, so many products rave about resolving all these hair issues, and it becomes difficult to not-to-trust those highly convincing ads. Many times we give in and buy those products, knowing later that it was a sheer waste of money. Nevertheless, during the Wella bloggers meet I was given one hair care product: ‘Wella Oil Reflections Smoothening Treatment’ that looks very promising for winter season, and let’s see how it has served me so far.
What the product says:
This multi-sensorial oil, with macadamia seed oil, avocado oil and vitamin E, known as a natural anti-oxidant, instantly reveals the beautiful, natural reflections of hair color with a very lightweight technology that makes hair feel incredibly light and supple. High, glossy reflections: specifically designed to enhance the shine of Wella Professionals Colour, making it up to 86% more reflective. Wella Professionals Oil Reflections can be used in a number of different ways:
• Conditioning — apply a few drops of oil onto damp hair for an instant, lightweight smoothening effect.
• Styling — apply a few drops of oil to wet hair before you dry* for additional protection.
• Finishing — apply after styling to give hair extra shine, and to intensify colour reflection
My Take on ‘Wella Oil Reflections Smoothening Treatment’
Wella oil reflections smoothening treatment comes in a transparent pump bottle. It is transparent in color, and has runny oil like consistency. The very first time I put this oil on my palm I could not actually fathom to what thing this oil’s smell resembles to but when I paid a little more attention I could really smell a cough syrup poured on my hand. When I am sick I can endure this smell but when it is all hale and hearty bearing this scent demands some tolerance. But the good thing is when I spread the oil on hair the bad odour just disappears into the air.
Wella oil reflections smoothening treatment feels like oil but it does not make hair oily or sticky, owing to this trait you can say that it is dry oil which nourishes hair but does not make it greasy. This oil can be applied to both damp and dry hair and it gives different results on both these applications. Usually I apply it on my towel dried damp hair. I divide my hair in two huge sections, take one pump for each hair section, spread it on my palms and massage it along hair length. I do the massage for 1-2 minutes ensuring that the oil does not reach the hair roots or scalp.
When applied on damp hair, it makes it smooth and tangle free. You will feel that your hair has become soft and frizz free. Yes, it does its bit in controlling frizz but only if you apply it on damp hair. On dry hair, I do not find it effective at all. When applied on dry hair it neither makes them smooth nor frizz free. Plus, I could not spot that lustrous shine on my hair every time I used this oil irrespective of damp or dry hair application. The good thing is that it does not weigh down my hair, and neither generates any grease. My hair washing routine remains the same if I do or do not use this oil.
Well oil reflections smoothening treatment is quick to apply. I use it in situations of time crunch when I have to wash my hair without conditioning them. It provides the conditioning effect by making hair look smooth and healthy but I do not foresee any remarkable improvement in my hair health. I believe it provides temporary healthy result but does not work that well when it comes to long term efficacy.

Final Word: Wella Oil Reflections Smoothening Treatment is kind of dry oil that works great on damp hair. It does control frizz and makes hair smooth & soft. However, it neither does add any extraordinary shine to hair nor makes dry hair frizz free. Looking at its price I believe it is a luxurious product that is handy to use when you are out of conditioner or does not have time & patience to condition your hair.

I am using it because my hairdresser told me that I need to go through a hair moisturising treatment. So, I got haircut yesterday and my father bought a combo pack of it which consisted of shampoo, conditioner, and reflections oil. I have applied it right now it feels nice.
